In the UK, professional child care providers such as nannies, nursery carers and child-minders must complete a suitable paediatric first aid course at regular intervals. The Emergency First Response (EFR) 12 Hour Care for Children programme meets the standards and regulatory requirements necessary for such a first aid course. Although not a requirement globally, we recommend that this course is seriously considered by anyone either in, or considering working in a child care profession.
