In our society anyone could be affected by a condition that will trigger mental health to themselves, a colleague or a member of their family. Our 1 day MHFA course is designed to give the right skills to people who want to learn how to support people at the workplace in order to have a safer workplace.

Mental Health it is our emotional, psychological and well-being state that effects the way we behave. Its effects the way we manage stress when we are at work or at home with family and friends, what choices we make and how we act.
By being a Mental Health First aider at your workplace you will be able to help those that are suspected to suffer from a mental health condition. This course also covers the effects of drugs and alcohol and provides learners with the skills and knowledge to assist employers in implementing a positive mental health culture to support employees within a workplace.

By the end of the 1 Day MHFA course students will be able to help their workplace to provide a more positive environment as they will have the knowledge of all the common mental health conditions and the ability to react when a condition is suspected. They will also be able to build a mental health action plan with guidance and support for professional help.

Course Syllabus

Certification

Upon successful completion of the qualification assessment, learners will be awarded the Ofqual regulated Level 2 Award in First Aid for Mental Health (RQF)/Award in First Aid for Mental Health at SCQF Level 5. This qualification is valid for three years from the date of achievement. It is strongly recommended that the learner attends annual refresher training. The learner will need to complete the full course again to requalify for a further three years.

We are based in Caerphilly Business Park in Britannia House open Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm. We have a variety of training  locations from the Cwrt in Llanishen to the Lisvane & Llanishen Reservoirs Visitor Centre, Lisvane Road,  and the Welsh Ice centre in caerphilly to suit large or small classes and an on-site cafe will serve you lunch, refreshments and snacks during your training breaks.
