The course combines new-mum wellbeing and self-care with infant and child first aid, giving you the opportunity to learn in a friendly, supportive and practical environment. The course content is approved from the level 3 award of FAA Paediatric first aid training and the Mental health first aid training FAA awarded courses.
Becoming a mum is an exciting and life-changing experience, but it can also bring new challenges, worries and responsibilities. Knowing what to do when your baby or child is unwell or injured can make a huge difference and so can knowing how to look after your own physical and emotional wellbeing.

The early months after having a baby can be demanding, and it is important to recognise when you may need additional support. During the course, we will explore:

Understanding postnatal depression and anxiety

Knowing when you or someone you know may need additional support
Our aim is to encourage new mums to prioritise their own wellbeing while caring for their little ones.
👶 Infant & Child First Aid
Accidents and emergencies can happen unexpectedly. Having the confidence to respond quickly can be invaluable.
You will learn essential first aid skills including:

Primary assessment — how to assess a baby or child in an emergency

Infant CPR — what to do if a baby is not breathing normally

Child CPR — essential life-saving skills for children

Choking — how to respond to a choking infant

Choking in children — what to do when a child is choking

Using an AED — understanding how an automated external defibrillator can be used during a cardiac emergency

Serious bleeding — how to respond to significant bleeding

Burns and bruises — appropriate first aid for common childhood injuries

Recognising injuries and emergencies — understanding when professional medical help is needed

Communicating with emergency services — knowing what information to provide when help arrives
